Acupuncture
Five Element Acupuncture is the heart of the practice at Tru Acupuncture. Our fully licenced and insured acupuncturist uses ultra fine, sterile needles to stimulate specific points on the body, helping to restore balance and promote healing.
Acupuncture has been shown to work on a wide range of conditions, including pain, stress, fertility problems in women & men, digestive disorders and many more conditions.

Payment can be made by cash, card or contactless at time of appointment.
Please note a £20 cancellation fee will be applied for appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours notice. Missed appointments with no prior notice are charged at the full rate of your booking.
Tru Acupuncture is fully licensed by Cornwall Council, has full insurance and meets all of the high standards required to run a safe and sterile clinic, with patient safety and wellbeing as a top priority. All needles are one time use only. All Health and safety training is regularly completed and Continued Personal Development takes place every year to ensure you receive the best possible care.

FAQ
Does it hurt?
The needles are ultra fine (the thickness of a hair) so you shouldn't experience any significant pain, if anything at all, just a slight pressure sensation, or some tingling where the needle connects to the Deqi. But if your at all worried please feel free to call and discuss your fears.
How many sessions will I need?
This varies from patient to patient, some people will need more treatments, especially if their condition has been present for some time. The ideal plan would be weekly for 4 weeks, then a top up treatment every few weeks/months, as required to keep your health at its best.
How will I feel after treatment?
This varies, but most feel, relaxed, calm with a sense of balance, on the day you may feel drowsy or sleepy, especially a few hours after treatment. The following days after treatment most patients report a renewed energy, improvement in symptoms and better sleep. You will receive a full aftercare leaflet to take home with you explaining what to expect and how to get the most out of your session.
Are there any side effects?
Acupuncture is very safe and any negative side effect are normally temporary, you may on rare occasions get a minor bruise at the needle point, or a temporary flare-up of your symptoms - this is a good sign that the treatment is working, as the body works to correct itself.

Trudy Higham Dip.Ac
Trudy is a highly skilled acupuncturist who specialises in pain management, fertility, stress and anxiety. With a background in the pharmaceutical industry, a trained Mental Health First Aider and a volunteer First Responder she has a unique understanding of the body and how it functions, allowing her to provide effective treatments that help her patients get back to their best selves.
Our Mission
At Tru Acupuncture, our mission is to provide high-quality acupuncture services to help our clients achieve optimal health and wellness. Our experienced practitioner use a holistic approach to treat a variety of conditions, from chronic pain to stress and anxiety.
The clinic based in Biscovey, Par, St Austell treats people from all over Cornwall, it has off road parking, and is easy to locate.
Our electric couch is suitable for those with mobility issue, it is wider than average and is height adjustable.
Also included within your session is a FREE infrared treatment (*if medically appropriate) this light therapy increases circulation, promotes healing and is great for stiff joint, so works well along side your acupuncture session.
